The ttds is a *free, tcp-ip enabled database server.
ttds allows you to enable a tsunami-based application to talk over a tcp
network with minimal code changes. It is based on the fine work of
Advantage Systems and their Tsunami Record
Manager. Because ttds requires the pro version of Tsunami,
you must join the Tsunami Users
Group in order to use ttds. Membership in the users group allows you
to download the required Tsunami pro dll (trmpro.dll). Once you have
trmpro.dll, you will be able to operate a ttds server and client software.
There are three components to ttds applications:
- The server
- The client library
- The professional version of Tsunami (required by both the server
and the client.
The first two can be obtained on the download page..
And the last must be acquired by joining the Tsunami Users Group (see above).
*The server is free.
If you wish to access the server from a non-freeware/non-personal application
you must purchase a distribution license.

The server is freely downloadable from this site and
can be distributed royalty free. The client is also free for freeware
applications, developer testing, and personal apps only used by the developer.
In order to distribute an application
that is not free (shareware, commercial, or in-house/not publicly available
software), you must pay a nominal fee for the distribution right
(currently $120). Having paid for a distribution license, you have the
right to distribute, royalty free, any application you wish that talks to
a ttds. The client interface is licensed on a per developer basis - you
must purchase one license of the client interface for each developer on
your team if you charge for an application that is based on the ttds client.

Those that pay the license fee for commercial and shareware license
are also entitled to a year of email support. Other support is available for an
